The Clore Family
Represented by Carla Jones and Lee Clore
The Clore Family came to Oldham County, Kentucky (then called Jefferson County) from Culpepper County, Virginia in1808 and bought the farm they still own, and farm, form the holder of the land grant.

In 1850 their great, great grandfather, Dr. Stanton Bryant, cared for the citizens and slaves of the Brownsboro. His son-in-law, Zach Clore, served the county as Judge and State Representative. Zach’s sons and grandson, Carl Clore, Sr. and Carl Clore, Jr. served many years on the school board in the 1950’s and 1960’s. Car, Jr. (June) was also a benefactor to the schools, library, fire department, and in general to the needy peoply as he found them. Since his death his family has donated properties to various organizations including Rose Haven, the Oldham County libraries, the parks department (Briar Hill Park – 70 acres), the roads system (18 acres for the Crestwood Bypass), and lately, 17 acres to the Oldham County School System.

The Clore Family’s roots are deep and their concern and love for Oldham County has remained constant over the years. They believe in keeping the history and integrity of Oldham County and continue to work along with the Oldham County historical Society to make sure future generations can learn and be proud of their heritage.
