The Oldham County History Center will have a quilt workshop for those interested in embroidery and raised stitches. Fabric artist Gail Williamson will share her expertise on embellishing quilts and applying unique designs and stitches for old quilts as well as creating new quilts. Gail has had her work displayed in numerous shows including her show at the Oldham County History Center in 2004. Williamson uses religious themes in her work and has studied extensively in Italy.
The workshop will be held at the Oldham County History Center on Saturday, December 9 from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m and includes lunch. Cost is $8 for members and $10 for non-members. The quilt workshop is being conducted as part of the activities to promote the Ruth Klingenfus Quilt Collection which is currently on exhibit at the Oldham County History Center museum through January 2.
The museum is open Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. The museum has extended hours on Friday, from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. and on Sundays from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. Admission is free.
